How to List Mining Certifications on Your Resume

Mining recruiters scan for certifications first. They need to quickly verify you have the mandatory tickets before reading anything else. Get this section wrong, and your resume goes straight to the reject pile.

Where to Place Certifications

Your certifications should appear on page one, typically after your contact details and summary statement. Don't bury them at the end — recruiters won't search for them.

Always Include:

• Driver's Licence class — C, HR, HC, or MC
• Industry inductions — White Card in WA; Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical for Queensland coal only
• High Risk Work Licences — Forklift, EWP, Crane, Rigging, Dogging
• Safety tickets — Working at Heights, Confined Space, First Aid

Include If Relevant:

• Shotfirer's Licence
• Dangerous Goods certification

Format as: "Working at Heights (RIIWHS204E)" to capture both search terms.

WA vs Queensland coal

These are different tickets. There is no “Standard Mining Induction (WA)”. White Card is not required on every mining site in Australia.
